Match Notes: Excellent intensity all night, WCE always a few goals too good. Saints rallied late in third, before WCE, led by Kerr and Cousins, powered away.

Notes: Grant's 330th, Bulldogs burst from blocks early and held sway all afternoon. Gilbee and McMahon the best, Howat good on debut for Tigers. Stafford 200th.

Notes: Blues shocked Melbourne early, having their measure for most of afternoon, despite mini-Demons revival. Fevola the star, including a half time brawl with Whelan.

Notes: Sydney's game from the word go, although the Dons posed a small threat early. Hall the star, Kirk, Ablett and O'Keefe bring up the rear; Grundy continues to impress. Lucas the Dons best once more.

Notes: Another high intensity match, the lead changing several times, as the Crows employed tempo football. Edwards and Bassett outstanding for the Crows, Swan, H.Shaw and Fraser the Pies best. Johnson and Tarrant solid after turbulant week.

Notes: Cats held sway for much of the day, the Lions only briefly challenging in the third term. Bartel, Hunt and Steve Johnson the best, and Riccardi the spark.

Notes: Uninspiring scrap from both sides, the Kangaroos running away with the game in the second half. Sav Rocca need not retire to America just yet.

Votes: J.Longmuir (1) A.Sandilands (2) P.Bell (3)
Notes: Fremantle from start to finish, although the Hawks gave glimpses in the second term, before Longmuir and Sandliands led their side to a comfortable win. Williams once again the lone forward hand.
